3 x Fish Delight
Did you know that to make and sell dog treats which contain animal by products, by law, you have to be a fully licensed pet food company? This means that if your products contain any ABPs (Meat, eggs, honey, etc) you have to have a license from DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs). This license approves your premises and your processes. All your product lines must also continually be sent to a lab for safety testing.
Long gone are the days you could just whip up a batch of dog cookies and sell them to your neighbours or at the local market.
It doesn’t end there! You have to have your packaging approved too which includes listing your DEFRA pet food company approval number on every piece of packaging. This allows people to be sure your products are safe before buying.
We are very proud to announce that we have designed all our processes and products from scratch and after rigorous assessment we’ve been given our official DEFRA licence with no problems!
Naturally, we designed the products to be, not just delicious, but completely safe for animal consumption! However, it feels really good to get the official go ahead! Our approval number has been added to our packaging and sent to the printers! Not long until you can get your hands on the North West’s most delicious dog treats!
